Paul Lasman spent decades as a senior mechanical designer for leading aerospace companies, including SpaceX, working with rigid materials and uncompromising tolerances on systems that reached for the stars. But his creative spirit found its ultimate expression in something far less predictable — the chaotic, fluid, fiery art of glassblowing.
That duality is the engine of his work. Every piece carries the discipline of an engineer who measures in thousandths of an inch and the spontaneity of an artist who surrenders to molten glass at 2,000°F. The result is what we call Playful Precision — forms that feel both inevitable and surprising.
Paul is the founding artist and co-owner of Stellar Art Gallery in Torrance, California.
